NorAnc is an app for genealogists working in this field. It contains fact sheets for some of the major sources of Norwegian genealogy. From detailed pages on the sources you can link to some sites where you will find related information in the form of original sources or searchable sources in transcripts. There are also some links to supporting information for the source.
NorAnc also provides note-taking, image and map functions. You can post a note, and using the Location feature, the app automatically sets the coordinates recording the location of the note. Clicking on the map afterwards, you can see the different notes in the chart. You can also capture an image that can be added to the note. You can also change or delete a note, (your original coordinates will not change). Your third option is to send the note as an e-mail. Then you can add the notes into, for example, a genealogy program. The feature also acts as a backup for your notes.
This application is part of the project "Norwegian Ancestry," a book about Norwegian genealogy in English. The purchase of this app contributes financially towards the translation of the book from Norwegian to English.
The projects Web site is www.norwegianancestry.com. The App is available in Norwegian - see NorSlekt.
